Retirement family home.
We built this modern extension of an old brick cottage about 6 years ago and have lived in it since.
The main house is one bedroom and is an expansive open area with lots of windows looking over the garden.
It is on about 2.5 acres of land and is situated on a ridge on a very quiet street.
half the land is native trees and we often find koalas, and sometimes kangaroos on our land. There are always lots of large birds with kookaburras, Australian magpies and many types of parrots.
Despite the "rural" indication it is only one kilometre walk to the village with a great cafe a supermarket and a range of eating places.
About the location
Aldgate is a small shopping centre not far from our house with a fairly large residential area surrounding it.
We are zoned "Rural" but within the Aldgate area.
The local pub "The Aldgate Pump" is a pleasant place and is a reasonably comfortable walk from home, although harder going uphill home after a couple of pints.
