Priory Cottage
The cottage borders the river Waveney with open views across the river to the Hadiscoe marshes. Accessed along the riverside path past a small boatyard and moored boats.
Open plan kitchen/dining/living with 3 bedrooms leading off. The 4th bedroom is via a ships ladder to the loft room.
We built the cottage about 22 years ago on floating foundations so that in the unlikely event of a flood the cottage will rise above the water.
Parking in a car park near the St Olaves bridge is about 150 metres walk along the path.
A canadian canoe is available for guest use. In the summer experienced sailors may like to take the dinghy for a sail.
About the location
If you can pull yourself away from the peace of the river it is a great location for exploring the Norfolk/Suffolk coast and the Norfolk Broads.
There are lovely walks into Waveney forest without going near a road.
Haddiscoe station with direct trains from Norwich and Lowestoft is 1 mile away. The beach at Gorleston 6 miles. Hourly buses run to Great Yarmouth and Beccles.
