Nestling in the alpine hills of Piemonte, this early 19th century farmhouse set in two acres of private woodland is a secluded haven from the rigours of modern life.

Wander among the many Hazelnut, Sweet Chestnut, European Oak and numerous varieties of fruit trees and you may be lucky enough to spot Roe Deer or even Wild Boar, who visit the land daily. There`s a brick built BBQ on the terrace, and a fire pit in the hazelnut grove.

Cook on the woodburning `stufa` or the gas hob, and warm your evenings with the wood burner in the living room, connect your laptop to the projector and watch your favourite movies or TV shows on the big screen.

You`ll need a car while you`re here, though the centre of the bustling market town of Asti is only ten minutes drive.

About the location

Situated adjacent to the Unesco World Heritage sites of Langhe and Monferrato, you are in the middle of a triangle of great cities here: Turin, Milan and Genova, all of which are within one and a half hours, the Italian Alps are within reach for a daytrip, as is the Italian Riviera coast.

The house feels secluded, but only a short drive to shopping, culture and restaurants.
The surrounding hills are lined with vineyards, the valleys with corn, wheat and hazelnut as well as cows in the pastures.

In the spring there are lively wine festivals in pretty hilltop villages like Agliano Terme, and in the autumn, the food festivals inspired by the world famous Piemontese white truffle.
