Beautiful four bedroom Cotswold cottage

Our house is a beautiful cottage in the picturesque village of Langford in the Cotswolds. The garden with sofa swing and trampoline is perfect for summer, the sitting room with wood burner and luxurious velvet sofa is perfect for winter. There's an open air swimming pool and a very swimmable river a few minutes away and our village has one of the most popular pubs in the Cotswolds – The Bell.

Downstairs, the hallway leads to the large sitting room with sofa, piano, armchairs, everyday dining table, Smart TV and woodburner. There are double doors to the garden, and to the study, which also has doors to the garden. On the other side of the sitting room is a well-equipped kitchen. Through the kitchen there’s a dining room, and through there you get to the second entrance hallway (good for muddy boots) and the downstairs loo.

Upstairs, there are three bedrooms on the first floor, the master bedroom with Kingsize bed, and a double and a single. There’s also the family bathroom with a bath and shower. Up the spacesaver staircase (see pics – daughter has got up and down fine since she was three but any younger might be tricky without help) is the attic bedroom with a single bed.

In the garden there's a large Springfree (very safe!) trampoline, a sofa swing, a hammock, a table seating 6 and a grassy area.

We are: two adults and two children (7 and 13). We have a cat at home who we could either leave with you or not have in the house.

About the location

Our house is in picturesque Langford, six miles from Burford, known as the Gateway to the Cotswolds!

It is situated in a conservation area, on the Oxfordshire/Gloucestershire border, in the middle of the historic towns of Lechlade, Bampton (where they filmed Downton Abbey!) and Burford. You're also close to all the Cotswolds must-see villages of Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water, Bibury, Moreton in Marsh, Fairford, plus other popular places including Soho Farmhouse, Daylesford, Jeremy Clarkson's Diddly Squat, Cirencester, Oxford, Cheltenham and Witney.

Langford is an extremely pretty village, characterised by pretty Cotswold stone houses, surrounded by open farmland and has been classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With excellent walking routes from the doorstep to local villages, it is the perfect location to explore everything the Cotswolds has to offer.

Within the village there is The Bell Inn, a critically acclaimed gastropub, offering delicious pub food with a great wine list! Giles Coren is a British food writer for the Times and visited in January 2018, writing, “On the final day of 2017, I had not just the best mouthful of the year, but the best mouthful of my life!”

If you need supplies during your stay, you're only one mile from Filkins with a small local shop, post office, cafe, museum and gift shop, open air swimming pool and another excellent pub, The Five Alls.

While you are here, why not also visit nearby Cotswold Wildlife Park (3 miles), Burford Garden Centre (6 miles), Kelmscott Manor (2 miles), Crocodiles of the World (6 miles), Upton Smokery (7 miles), Cotswold Water Park (18 miles), Blenheim Palace (24 miles).
