A typical French townhouse i.e. a winding staircase with 1/2 rooms on each level. A bit like a lighthouse.

House is "quirky" i.e. hardly any of the walls are straight! It is comfortable and personalised without being cluttered. It includes an easygoing, initially reserved cat by the way who is more interior than exterior.

Level1: large cosy kitchen
Level 2: living room with interior balcony and French windows, plus small tv room (also an extra "emergency" bedroom )
Level 3: bathroom, workspace niche, bedroom
Level 4: converted attic with interior balcony and French windows. Fabulous view. Too hot to sleep in if heatwave hits (tends to happen in July)!

The garden is separate from the house (not unusual in France). it is placed down by the river and affords a wonderful view of the town. The little shack in the garden has a covertble sofa and a cuple of chairs/table. NO elctricity or water/toilet...so come preared!! N.B. Couples and singletons only. In the event of a heatwave the top room gets very stuffy.

About the location

Lovely green and lush location with spired church, river, trees and valley. Typical French provincial town. Ideal for those searching tranquillity or of creative disposition. All the amenities including cinema, banks, supermarkets, cafés, weekly market, etc. An annual 5 day festival in early July. Lots of little roads and quaint houses. To get to river one goes downwards... and to get back home one goes upwards (quite a steep walk of about 10-15 minutes). There is a train station but car is recommended.
