Comfortable bungalow in a great area.

Our home is very much a ‘lived in, clean and tidy home (or it WILL be tidy when you arrive)’ and not a show home!

We have central heating, tv with Netflix, Prime etc., and good WiFi.

We have two double bedrooms and a single bedroom with an extra pull out bed if you’re slim! We have a bathroom with shower and water saving bath, and an extra toilet opposite the front door. We have a modernish kitchen with Integrated fridge and dishwasher, and an electric oven with an induction hob.

We have a small Jack Russell dog so there may be the odd dog hair lurking in case you are allergic to dogs.

There is a large garden on four levels, with decking and a table and chairs outside the patio doors. It is possible to go down to the other levels, but inadvisable, as the steps are in need of some attention.

Two dogs maximum would be welcome, but the steps wouldn’t be suitable for small children.

About the location

This is a fabulous area to visit, with so many things to do and places to go that they are too many to mention. We would leave lots of leaflets for any visitors to choose from.

For National Trust fans - Greenway, Agatha Christie’s holiday home, Coleton Fishacre with its magnificent gardens and views, and Compton Castle are all local.

We are five minutes from the nearest beach by car, and there are lots of other beaches to explore. The nearest beach allows dogs all year round on half the beach.

We are half an hour from Dartmoor National Park with its wonderful views, forests, streams and innumerable walks - and we are also near the South Devon Coastal path. The fishing village of Brixham is three miles away with its quaint streets, and the popular historic town of Dartmouth, including the naval college, is 15 minutes’ drive away, reached by two different car ferries or a foot passenger ferry. If you want to travel further afield the Gold bus can take you to Plymouth via a scenic route - and at the moment all bus journeys - no matter how far - cost £2 - or are free with a bus pass! The ‘hippy’ town of Totnes with its steep streets and quirky shops and eclectic cafes, and the beautiful estate of Dartington are also on the bus route.

If you are keen on steam railways the steam train departs from Paignton and chugs to Kingswear where you can take the passenger ferry over to Dartmouth. There is also a ‘round robin’ journey which consists of a bus to Totnes, ferry downriver from Totnes to Dartmouth, ferry across to Kingswear in order to catch the steam train back to Paignton.

Another steam railway leaves Totnes and ends at Buckfastleigh, where you can visit the otter and butterfly sanctuary.

The ferry from Brixham to Torquay is a lovely trip (on a calmish day) with views of the local coastline.

I could go on and on, but I’m beginning to sound like a travelogue so I’ll stop!

For convenience - although we live in a very quiet area - there are six supermarkets within walking distance, or two minutes by car. There is a bus service at the end of our road, and there is a good public transport system in the whole of Devon. In short, we think ourselves very lucky to live in such a wonderful area rather than having to travel to it!
