Eleanor's House

The house has recently been refubished and insulated to create a comfortable, genrously-sized family home. Downstairs there is a Kitchen which opens on to the main Dining Sitting Room - with sofas, TV and a large table which comfortably seats eight people. The house has a large collection of books and board games which you are welcome to use. Ouside there is a patio area with table and bench seating which is lovely if you get good weather!

On the first floor there are two double bedrooms and a bedroom with a single bed which can easily accommodate another single mattress if a twin is required. There is also an additional 'snug' area which can also have a fold out bed. There are 2 separate bath/shower rooms upstairs and another toilet on the ground floor.

We have a large black and white cat called Shooshy. We would be greatful if you can feed him and let him in and out whilst you stay. He doesn't need much attention - he's usually just happy doing his own thing and is likely to sit in the same room as you, but just out of arms reach!

About the location

We live on a quiet road in the village of Kennington which is roughly 3 miles from the centre of Oxford. Within a few minutes you can walk from the door into Bagley Woods or if you want to head into Oxford you can cross the river (behind the Tandem pub) and walk or cycle all the way into town along the Thames path. Its about a 45 minute walk or a 15 minute cycle ride to Christchuch Meadow. From there you can explore the historic city centre - the Oxford University Colleges, museums and galleries. There are also great theatres, cinemas, places to eat and shopping in the new Westgate Shopping Centre. A regular bus service will also take you into Oxford city in about 15 minutes.

From Oxford there are regular buses and trains into London which is an easy day trip - with trains into Paddington taking about 1hr.
