Modern family home in beautiful Suffolk village near historic Bury St Edmunds

Light, modern family home situated in the friendly village of Elmswell and the gorgeous countryside of Suffolk. With two young children of my own, this house would make a great base for a family to explore.

Downstairs the heart of the home is a lovely open plan Kitchen, diner and play area with open doors onto the garden so kids can run free. Also downstairs is what we call the `Grandparents suite` with a bedroom and ensuite off the living room which is almost entirely soundproof so able to completely escape the inevitible noises of family life and have a little privacy!

Upstairs there is a large master bedroom and en-suite plus two further bedrooms. One child`s bedroom complete with bunkbeds (and secret den in the eves that often gets slept in!) and the other another guest room with queen bed.

About the location

Elmswell is a highly active middle sized village in the gorgeous surroundings of Suffolk with useful amenities such as a small supermarket, library, playparks, butchers, hairdressers, pubs and the mandatory fish and chips shop.

Historic Bury St Edmunds is 15minutes drive away, and within the 30min radius are a host of other notable spots such as Lavenham, one of the most perfect historical villages that was also used as the set of Cedric`s Hollow in the Harry Potter films. Elmswell benefits from a local train station, with connections to Cambridge, Ipswich, Norwich and London. The lovely Suffolk coastline is an hours drive away, with hotspots such as Southwold and Aldeburgh or off the beaten path beaches such as Covehithe.

Personally I think Suffolk is one of the UK`s best kept off the beaten path secrets, with beaches as nice as those in Devon but half the crowds, stunning countryside perfect for long bike rides or walks and plenty of lovely pubs to while away a lunchtime or dinner in.
