Semi detached with beautiful view of Camlough mountain

Our house is 8 years old and set in the busy village of Camlough. We have a stunning view from the kitchen and patio of Camlough mountain.

Downstairs there is the entrance hall, livingroom, kitchen with large seating area, utility room and WC. Upstairs is 3 bedrooms and a bathroom with bath and separate shower.

We have a large bedroom with double bed and a smaller bedroom with a smaller double bed which can sleep 2. There is a third bedroom with a fold up single bed. A single air mattress could also be used in this room (let me know and I will purchase one). Decent sized garden with patio and large trampoline

About the location

Camlough from Irish: Camloch, meaning `crooked lake` is a village five kilometres west of Newry in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. The village is named after a lake, known as Cam Lough, in the parish, which is about 90 acres in extent. South of the village is Camlough Mountain (Slieve Girkin) which is part of the Ring of Gullion. The Ring of Gullion is a geological formation and area and is officially designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, (AONB). Camlough had a population of 1,074 at the 2011 Census.

To get here you will fly into either of the two Belfast airports (Belfast international and Belfast city) or into Dublin airport. Great bus schedule from Dublin airport to newry direct and a taxi will take you the last 4 miles to Camlough. Belfast city airport will mean a short bus ride into Belfast then hop on another bus or train to Newry followed by a 4 mile taxi ride. Belfast international is a bit further out of Belfast with no direct bus service however a bus into Belfast another bus to Newry and a 4 mile taxi ride will get you here. We can offer car exchange as we have two cars.

The area is halfway between Belfast and Dublin very close to the main roads to both. One hour travel will get you to both Dublin and Belfast or there is a train station approx 2 miles away from the house which can take you to both.

As you travel into Newry and the coastal towns of Warrenpoint and Newcastle you are surrounded by the Mourne Mountains. A fantastic area for mountain climbing. The Carlingford Bay Area was the inspiration for Narnia. C S Lewis, as a young boy, spent much holiday time in the Mournes and Rostrevor in particular, allowing him to imagine, dream and wonder, and inspiring his creation of the magical world of Narnia. ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ have sold over 100 million copies. Lewis is reported to have written a letter to his brother saying:

“That part of Rostrevor which overlooks Carlingford Lough is my idea of Narnia”
