About the location
Historic downtown, 5 minutes by car or bike to beaches all along the island. Restaurants of every style and type. Many are right on the island within walking distance. Publix grocery, Walgreen drug store, banks, and a hospital are all available on the island, Neighboring towns are Nokomis, Northport, Englewood, and more. Sarasota about a 20 -25 minutes drive has many places to visit and includes a newer large mall and surrounding shopping area. We have two older bikes, but serviceable. We will exchange cars if it is mutual, but cannot with a non-simultaneous exchange. There are many car rental places in the area, Uber, and a new type of inexpensive call for a van driver has taken over the buses for many, buses go to Sarasota from the bus station which is off the island.
