On good public transport links including buses and trains. Free on street parking outside. On a direct train line from Gatwick airport (1hr 45 minutes) and only 1hr 35 minutes to central London. Close to Folkestone and Dover for Channel tunnel and ferry crossings.

Lots of English Heritage and National Trust properties within driving distance. Cycle Path along the seafront that will take you on traffic free routes through to Bexhill and back-cycle hire available in the town.
