Kingston Upon Thames

We have a beautiful semi detached Victorian property over 3 levels in South London which has been fully renovated and features a large open plan living area kitchen and lounge and large 100ft garden with trampoline and chickens

We have, 2 cats 4 hens and 1 tortoise; it would be great if the animals could be looked after during your stay. Our house has easy access to vibrant town with riverside cafes and restaurants and easy access to London Waterloo (30 mins by train from local station).

We have an old but reliable Renault Espace which can be included depending on insurance. It has ample room to carry 7 people but I must add is not much good for central London as this is now classified as low emission zone and subject to fees if used. We never need to use it for central London anyway and always get public transport which is easy.

About the location

Our street is in a quiet area of Kingston Upon Thames within a 15 minute walk to the town centre and features a cool craft beer and pizza pub at end of the road (500m from house). In fact we have an abundance of good local independent pubs within walking distance. Kingston is on the river Thames which is very pretty and now a popular place for SUPs (we have a brand new one you are welcome to use whilst here). The river is a 15 min walk away and Kingston sits on the Thames which is very popular in the summer for boating and walking. Coupled with this we are less than 1km walk to beautiful and wild Richmond Park. Its a huge open wild park great for cycling and walking with lots of wildlife (wild deer, etc) . On opposite side of park to us is lovely town of Richmond upon Thames.
This area benefits from being close to London but with Kingston and Richmond you would never know it as its green and leafy and is a great escape from central London.
Travelling outside of immediate area and visiting London is easy and local train station (8 min walk) has trains every 15 mins to London Waterloo station (journey times 28 mins). We have bikes for your use which is lovely way to get around by river and park. In fact I cycle to central London every day as my commute.
Other features of area are its useful proximity to Heathrow (40 mins usually) and Gatwick (50 mis) and also being south of London you can easily reach lovely Surrey hills and north downs in 40 mins by car which has stunning walks, a little further south you can reach south down national park and south coast of Sussex with beautiful towns and also lively eclectic town of Brighton (90 mins drive away) and well worth a day trip.
For history Hampton Court is only 4 miles away up river and walkable/bikeable or there is a summer ferry boat that runs up river with stops in Kingston which is always a treat.
We also are very close to the theme parks of Chessington World of Adventure (20 min drive), Legoland (40 min drive) and Thorpe Park for bigger kids (35 mins).

There is loads more to see and do and we can bore you senseless with our favourite things if needed.
