Victorian house house in Oxford

Our house is a Victorian house located on a quiet, residential street (a no-through road) in central Oxford (about a mile from the historic centre). It has four bedrooms and is most comfortable for a family with two children but we can accommodate four children with advance notice (with guest/spare beds). Our own children are 14 and 16 so the house is set up for kids of that age. The master bedroom is an attic room with separate bathroom with shower, and lovely views over trees and rooftops. The whole house is in good decorative order and there is plenty of space, clean and tidy, but `lived in`! We have a cat who will need to be fed while we are away (either by our guests or our neighbour can pop in to look after them.)

About the location

We live in Marston, a quiet residential suburb close to Oxford city centre, mostly populated by families. It`s very green and there are large, open spaces to walk in fields and near the river. You can walk into central Oxford in 20-30 minutes. All of the main monuments/tourist attractions (Bodleian library, colleges, Botanical Garden, meadows, Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers museums, Holywell Music Rooms, theatres, shops etc.) are within a 30-minute walk or 15-minute cycle ride. There`s also a bus stop at the end of the road (buses to city centre every 20 mins). It`s 20 minutes by bike to the station (or direct by bus) and London is an hour away by train (London Paddington and Marylebone). We have 4 bikes for use by adults and children. The river is close by for paddle boarding, canoeing and punting and we are also close to the beautiful University Parks, Mesopotamia Walk, Parsons` Pleasure, Music Meadow, Headington Hill Park and South Park.
