Nice little bungalow at the point where Somerset, Devon and Dorset meet

Great base for exploring Somerset, Dorset and much of Devon. Detached bungalow built in 2000 with pleasant gardens front and rear, the latter quite private. Situated in a very quiet cul-de-sac leading to a large recreation ground.

Tatworth has a population of 2,500, and is located between two Areas of Ourstanding Natural Beauty. It`s the southernmost village in Somerset, with pleasant walks in all directions, also into Dorset and Devon.

The house is small and compact, but neat and tidy. I`m the only occupant. It has one double bedroom, unoccupied, and available for a single person or a couple; I`d prefer to keep my single bedroom separate. The bathroom has a walk-in shower; there`s also a separate toilet. The kitchen has the standard fixtures (but no dishwasher). To the rear is the lounge/dining room with conservatory. Gas central heating; electric cooking.

About the location

The village has a post office/general stores and a 15th century, thatched pub. There is a bus service, Mon-Sat, linking Taunton and Axminster, both of which have railway stations.

3 supermarkets 3 miles away in Chard. Attractive, rolling countryside all around. Many, many great places to visit, mainly by car.

Half day: beautiful villages with houses built of golden stone; Forde Abbey, Montacute House, Barrington Court (stately homes); Lyme Regis with fossil beach; Golden Cap cliffs; Branscombe and Beer (coastal villages); Sidmouth; Exeter.

Full day: Wells Cathedral; Cheddar Gorge; Glastonbury; Exmoor; North Devon coast; Dartmoor; Torbay; South Devon coast; Chesil Beach; Lulworth Cove; Bournemouth; Salisbury and Stonehenge.

London: Day trips are perfectly possible - leave fairly early in the day, get back late... and you can have 8 hours in town. Train or bus. (Car needed to reach station/pick-up point.)
