MCM home in lovely Comox
Our home is 3 bedroom split level built in 1960. We have retained the mahogany paneling and a few other mid century modern elements, but have recently updated the kitchen and bathrooms and installed a heat pump. The house sits on a 1/2 acre treed lot, on a street with other large lots with mature trees, giving a park like feeling.
About the location
My father describes our neighbourhood as "Trumanville" after the town in The Truman Show without the voyeurism and unsettling social commentary (although of course you could do that too). I digress, it is really lovely. We live 2 blocks from: a marina full of sailboats and a lovely board walk, a beautiful 9 hole golf course, the tennis club, a bustling tap house, a microbrewery, several restaurants, a supermarket, post office, hair salons, book shops etc - the village by the sea. The "spit" a large sandy beach is a 10 minute cycle or 5 min drive. Several other beaches can be access with longer cycles or by car. The surrounding area has abundant recreational opportunities. The ski hill is 45 minutes away. The nearby Village of Cumberland is a mountain biking mecca. https://discovercomoxvalley.com/
Comox Airport is serviced by Westjet and Air Canada. There is a regular harbour to harbour float plane service to Vancouver. The ferry to Vancouver is 1.5hr drive away. Both Pacific Rim National Park and Victoria are a 3 hr drive away.
