About the location

We are located 2.5 miles from the classic New England town of Bristol which is known as the "Gateway to the Green Mountains." A beautiful river flows from the mountains into the town and features one of the best swimming holes in the state. We are also 30 minutes from several downhill skiing, snowboarding or cross country areas. Vermont is also known for it`s hiking and their are multiple wonderful hikes nearby. Our home is surrounded by farm fields and woods with walking/cross country skiing right out the door. With a 10 minute walk you can have views of the Adirondack mountains in New York state. We are 20 minutes from the shores of Lake Champlain where there are several beautiful state parks to enjoy. Or perhaps you would like to visit some of our beautiful small towns, including nearby Ripton where poet Robert Frost lived and wrote. Visit the National Forest Service run Robert Frost walking trail that has his poems posted along the path.

In Bristol you will find a variety of restaurants from award winning to pizza, Chinese, diner, bakery and pub. We also have a supermarket, drug store, and hardware store, so you don`t need to travel far to get supplies.

Burlington, the largest city in Vermont is about a 45 minute drive and is not to be missed. It sits on the banks of Lake Champlain (the 6th largest lake in the US, after the Great Lakes) and has views across to the Adirondack Mountains. In summer the the pedestrian mall on Church Street is full of music and outdoor dining opportunities.

If you travel 20 minutes southwest of us you arrive in the college town of Middlebury. Here you will find galleries, museums, theatre and music events and of course more restaurants.
