Converted Barn in central village location in beautiful Yorkshire - Kirkburton / Grange convertie dans le centre du village dans le magnifique Yorkshire - Kirkburton

Our home is a 4 bed converted barn with lots of character. Bedroom 1 has a king size bed and an en-suite shower room. Bedroom 2 has a double bed and a sink in the room. Bedrooms 3 & 4 have double beds. Our newly renovated living/dining room has a wood-burning stove and we also have a snug for cosy tv time. Our kitchen has what you would expect with a large Range cooker, American-style fridge freezer, washing machine and microwave. There is also a dryer in the garage

Notre maison est une grange aménagée de 4 chambres avec beaucoup de caractère. La chambre 1 a un lit king size et une salle de douche attenante. La chambre 2 a un lit double et un lavabo dans la chambre. Les chambres 3 et 4 à des lits doubles. Notre salon/salle à manger récemment rénové dispose d`un poêle à bois et nous avons également un coin douillet pour un moment de télévision confortable. Notre cuisine a ce que vous attendez avec une grande cuisinière, un réfrigérateur-congélateur de style américain, une machine à laver et un micro-ondes. Il y a aussi une sécheuse dans le garage

About the location

Kirkburton is a lovely village with lots of history, lovely places to eat (including a Michelin restaurant, Norman’s, where Bruce Springsteen and Steven Graham recently lunched - need to book but well worth it!) and a couple of locals pubs in easy walking distance. The local Co-op is a reasonable size where you can get most things and is a minute’s walk away. All the large supermarkets are within a 10-15 min drive. There are also an excellent butcher, baker, independent clothing shops and a load of beauty salons and hairdressers. Kirkburton has a 16th century church (where I am a bell ringer) so you’d be more than welcome to climb the tower up the very narrow staircase on practice night (Wednesday) for a look! The church and church yard are also really interesting.

Kirkburton is located between Huddersfield and Holmfirth (the setting for ‘Last of the Summer Wine’) which also has great independent shops. There’s also a vineyard with amazing views over the Holme Valley. There’s lots of walking locally from the doorstep from a quick trundle down to the village and pentanque pitch to more hilly climbs. It’s also great for biking if you don’t mind hills!

There’s always lots going on in Huddersfield in the summer and there’s lots of investment going into the town. There’s a great indoor centre, The Light, which offers cinema, arcades, bowling, shuffle board etc and food - great for kids and adults if the weather lets you down. The train station area is also worth a visit with it’s beautiful listed buildings and the George Hotel, the home of Rugby league, is currently being renovated.

We’re also about 40 mins on the train from both Leeds and Manchester. Many others including York are within an hour’s drive. You can drive to Huddersfield station for direct trains or more local stations offer free parking and connections to Huddersfield and beyond. There’s so much to do in the local area and beyond, our home is a great base to explore.

Kirkburton est un charmant village avec beaucoup d`histoire, des endroits où manger et quelques pubs locaux facilement accessibles à pied. Le supermarché locale est d`une taille raisonnable où vous pouvez obtenir la plupart des choses et se trouve à une minute à pied. Kirkburton se situe entre Huddersfield et Holmfirth (le cadre de "Last of the Summer Wine") qui regorge de charmantes boutiques et restaurants indépendants.
