Thatched cottage with modern extension

Our home is in a quiet pretty village on the edge of the Exmoor National Park. It combines all the charms of a 17th century cosy thatched cottage, complete with low ceilings, fireplaces and uneven walls, with a large new modern extension. We built this with oak beams and large windows that flood the multipurpose room with light all day.

There is an extensive mature garden, complete with two natural ponds, a sunny terrace and decking area with beautiful views over the surrounding rolling hills.

We have two very affectionate cats who are very easy to care for.

About the location

Exmoor national park is minutes away, with hundreds of amazing walks. Our nearest main centre is South Molton, and Barnstaple has all the main facilities anyone would need.

The coast is approx 30 mins drive away - famous surfing beaches at Croyde, Ilfracombe and Saunton; while Lynton and Lynmouth make a popular day trip with the Valley of the Rocks and the SW Coastal path. There is an amazing garden to visit nearby at RHS Rosemoor.

Exeter is only an hour away and can be reached by road or by the Tarka Line rail link that runs from Barnstaple through stunning countryside. Appledore, Instow, Barnstaple and Bideford are lovely to explore with good cycle paths, and you can take a day trip out to the island of Lundy from Ilfracombe or Bideford. It is a very beautiful holiday area.
