Georgian townhouse within walking distance of beaches and all facilities

Our beautiful house was built around 1830. On the ground floor it has two large reception rooms with high ceilings, both overlooking the front garden - one of them also has french windows opening onto the rear garden. This room has comfortable sofas, bookshelves and a TV with freeview. The second sitting room , which we call the quiet room, has desks, more books, but no TV. The kitchen has a large eating area and off it are the laundry room and larder. There is also a bootroom with downstairs WC.

On the first floor are three bedrooms with double beds and a small dressing room which has a single bed or could accommodate a cot. Also on this floor is the family shower room plus en-suite bathroom to the main bedroom and a further WC. At the rear of the house is a large, sunny, cobbled courtyard with dining table and chairs. Stairs lead from the courtyard to the lawned terraces where you will find lots of hidden spaces with sunny or shady spots for quiet reading.

Our house is on one of the most desirable tree lined roads in Falmouth. We are a few minutes walk from the main street in Falmouth, the harbour and the beaches; from pubs and restaurants; the art centre and local cinema; and from the Woodlane campus of Falmouth University. You needn`t use your car at all unless you want to leave town.

We have furnished it for comfort and our own eclectic aesthetic. We have many books and paintings. Our friends and family always enjoy their visits. It`s not as smart as the photographs make it look! It`s a bit shabby round the edges, showing its age.

About the location

Falmouth is a small seaside town with a cosmopolitan feel. It has a thriving university, several beaches, a harbour for fishing and pleasure boats, marinas and pontoons for sailors, many art galleries, a thriving arts centre, two cinemas and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall. It`s on the south coast of Cornwall, a coast which has a gentler feel to the wilder north coast. Here, the land slopes gently towards the sea with plenty of little coves and creeks to explore. The local beaches are safe for families with clean water, rock pools and great cafes. Locals swim every day of the year from Gyllyngvase Beach which has a blue flag and lifeguards. There are some excellent restaurants and cafes in the town and pubs and bars to suit all tastes. The Southwest Coast Path is within ten minutes walk of the house and there are many National Trust houses and gardens to visit.
