The house is packed with period features, with a pretty `gin & tonic` garden. On the top floor is the master bedroom with super-king bed, ensuite shower room and a small balcony. On the same floor there is a separate family bathroom and a single bedroom which combines as a study/computer room. The next floor down comprises the entrance hall, sitting room, a bedroom with king-size bed and an understairs toilet with handbasin. The lower floor comprises the kitchen and dining area with access to the garden.
Our house is in on a quiet street within walking distance of the popular Clifton Village and the city centre. Residents parking zone has transformed the area.
About the location
Clifton Wood is surprisingly peaceful considering it`s half a mile from Bristol city centre. We walk everywhere, rarely using the car (Bristol traffic is slow). The neighbourhood overlooks Bristol Harbourside and the SS Great Britain and is close to the popular Clifton Village with its many restaurants, cafés, delis and boutiques. Nobody`s entirely sure when or why houses in the neighbourhod started being painted in bright colours. However the craze began, and the houses are an iconic part of Bristol`s skyline.
50 metres from our home, we have the 200 year old Lion pub.
Within walking distance we have the arthouse Watershed Cinema, Everyman Picture House, Bristol Old Vic Theatre (the oldest continually operated theatre in Europe), Tobacco Factory Theatre, pub theatres, the City museum (with a Tasmanian Tiger!), and art galleries.
