Cotswolds Retreat

We live in a fairly spacious bungalow in the South Cotswolds. The property has an upstairs (loft conversion) and so feels very much like a house. We have two adult bedrooms and a child's bedroom (large with a cool cabin bed). There is a lounge with an open fire and a nice size kitchen with a dining area and lounge area as well, so there is plenty of room to space yourselves out! The kitchen sitting area has bi-fold doors so in the good weather you can really enjoy the open aspect and the garden is lovely and private.

We have two cats who will need feeding but they are getting a bit old and lazy now so shouldn't be any trouble!

About the location

We live down a lane on the outskirts of our town, Cirencester which is a really pretty market town, with a lot of Roman history. There is a lovely walk into town taking about 15-20 mins or it's a quick 5 min drive. Nearby is the gorgeous Regency town of Cheltenham (approximately 30 mins drive) which is great for shopping, eating out, theatre life or general cafe sitting watching the world go by. There are often festivals of some sort going on there.

Other places of interest nearby are Bristol, Bicester Village, Broadway, Burford, Stow on the Wold and, if you don't mind a drive, Oxford is about an hour and a half away.

We are really lucky to have some wonderful countryside around us and the area is great for cycling, both serious road cycling and fun family trails with the nearby Cotswold Waterpark about 5 mins drive away. There are lots of watersports available there as well.

There are some spectacular walks, too many to mention here, but if you want that glorious English countryside feeling, waking up to the sound of birds singing, this might be the place for you!
