Large town house by the sea

Large Victorian house with a lovely small walled garden, 10mins from the beach. We are 5 minutes walk from Folkestone Central Train Station(50mins to central London), 10 minutes walk from the town centre and the sea.

There is internet access, a very well-equipped kitchen, games, sports equipment, an adult and teen bike.
There is a shop at the end of our street and a church, with two parks also 5 mins walk away. Very friendly area.

Three large bedrooms, one small bedoom and a study, two bathrooms and a third separate toilet on the top floor. Cosy living room with wood-burning stove, film screen, projector, netflix. Connecting dining room also with wood-burning stove. A large kitchen/breakfast room, and a sun-room which opens onto the patio/garden. Parking in front of the gate or a small car can fit into the drive. We can arrange use of our car (skoda fabia) and/or on street parking.

About the location

Folkestone is a vibrant town on the Kent coast, 15mins drive from Dover, 30mins from Canterbury. The fast train runs to London St Pancras International in 50 minutes. The town has a long history and is now well known for its Arts Triennial and Literary festivals (see www.folkestonetriennial.org.uk and www.folkestonetouristinformation.co.uk ).

The Eurotunnel is 10 minutes from us, where train car-ferries leave for Calais every 15 minutes, making day trips for shopping etc quite viable). Close by in Kent there are beautiful walks on the north downs just behind the town as well as along the coast towards the cinq ports towns of Hythe, Rye or Dover, the White Cliffs, Sandwich and Ramsgate. South London is an hour's drive. Jerwood Gallery in Hastings and the Turner Contemporary in Margate both easily driveable. Beautiful Kent gardens and Country Houses abound. Dover Castle, Walmer Castle, Sissinghurst, Battle of Britain memorial all within an easy drive.
