Beautiful Bloomsbury studio - central London

Full of original features, the south-facing studio has a large main room with a wood floor, an extremely comfortable four-poster bed, two sofas (one of which turns into a double sofa bed), and a dining area. In the heart of London, it is within walking distance of many of London's most interesting places, a step away from the bustle of the city into this lovely quiet and calm space.

There is a sun-filled balcony with a table and two chairs overlooking a park with a lovely view of the City skyline. A separate kitchen is small but well-equipped, with an electric hob, grill and oven, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer, and a range of kitchen equipment. The bathroom is full of original features, including an old-fashioned mirrored alcove and a (recently restored) 1930s bath, with a shower. Fresh linen and towels are provided, and there is a fast wireless internet connection. There is also a TV.

The studio is very well located for visitors to London. It is a few minutes walk from Russell Square (Piccadilly Line to Covent Garden, Piccadilly, South Kensington and Heathrow Airport), and Chancery Lane (Central Line to Oxford St and Notting Hill Gate) and Kings Cross (Victoria, Northern, Circle, Piccadilly & Metropolitan lines) underground stations are within 10 minutes walk. It's close to the Eurostar terminal at St Pancras, and train connections to Gatwick and Stansted Airports. Virtually outside the door is a bus stop - it's a 10 minute bus ride to St Paul's and the Millennium Bridge and to Blackfriars Bridge, for easy access to the South Bank's arts and culture. The City is within walking distance, and the studio is ideal for academics wishing to use the British Library - a short walk away - or visit Central London University of London colleges (UCL, SOAS, LSHTM and LSE are all within walking distance).

I can advise on sights, things to do, places to eat & transport to and from the airport.

About the location

Bloomsbury is famous for having been home to a number of Britain's creative writers, and as a hub for a bohemian group of people who included Virginia Woolf - the Bloomsbury Set. The streets around are peppered with blue plaques commemorating those who lived in this area, and there are various nearby attractions associated with writers, such as the Charles Dickens museum. The British Museum is a short walk away.

Nearby amenities include some great restaurants, an excellent shopping centre with a Waitrose (UK's best) supermarket, an art house cinema, patisserie and chemist, a 24 hour grocery shop just across the road, and lots of good restaurants, pubs, and cafes. Islington's Upper Street and Exmouth Market, Covent Garden and Soho, with their restaurants and bars are all within walking distance.
