Turnworth

Turnworth is a lovely, spacious house in Yarnton, halfway between Oxford and Woodstock. It is easily reachable. Flying into Heathrow, Yarnton is about an hour’s drive down the M40. Half of the house dates from 1670 and the other half from the 1980’s. It is situated in a very quiet cul-de-sac on the edge of the countryside. The house has many special features including a characterful kitchen, a large sitting room with an inglenook fireplace, a dining room with a long oak refectory table, a ‘cathedral’ style conservatory and a large, colourful south-facing garden.

The house has wifi, a large-screen satellite television with Netflix and Amazon Prime, and Sonos speakers available to use. There are also two bicycles available to use.

We would be keen to also swap cars if possible. We have a Volvo D2 V40 which seats 5. There is garage parking for our own car.

About the location

Turnworth is ideally placed to explore in every direction as it is very central in England. Oxford Parkway station is just five minutes away by car and, from there, trains run every half hour into London and take just an hour. (The popular Bicester Shopping Village, full of shops selling top brands at reduced prices is a stop up the line, if that’s your thing!) Just up the road is the beautiful village Woodstock and the famous Blenheim Palace, always a joy to explore. Stratford, Shakespeare’s birthplace, is only an hour’s drive north through beautiful countryside. The Cotswolds lie to the west with the classic villages: Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and Moreton-in-Marsh all about half-an-hour away. To the south lies Oxford, an easy bus ride from the end of our road takes you there and gives you the chance to explore its many beautiful colleges, gardens and museums. There are easy communications in all directions: bus and train.
