Family home in historic city of Lucerne, close to mountains and lake

We live in a centrally-located 4 bedroomed house with garden in Lucerne.

The house can accommodate 7 people (or more upon request- we often have our very large extended family to stay and have to change the rooming configuration- see below).

Upstairs is the bathroom with shower and bath and a separate toilet, plus the four bedrooms, as follows:
Master bedroom with a king-sized bed.
Second bedroom with bunk beds and wash basin (bunks can be turned into a double bed if preferred).
Smaller bedroom with a single bed and wash basin
Large room with single bed and double sofa bed.

We also have a small child bed and travel cot that can be assembled upon request.

Downstairs are the kitchen, `breakfast area`, WC, and open plan dining room and front room.

We have plenty of entertainment in the house- board games, books in English, computers, toys, table football and table snooker, PlayStation and Wii consoles. The house has WiFi throughout. The TV has many international channels, including English channels and Netflix.

There are tables and chairs in the garden- for dining al fresco, and a large BBQ to grill outdoors. For children (or the young at heart), there is also a trampoline.

There are bikes, skis, sledges & scooters (of varying ages and conditions) in the garage.

We are 8-10 mins by foot and 4 mins by bus to the railway station, lake and historic `old town`.

We have three cats (Cutie, Momo and Django) who will need feeding. They have a catflap to come and go from the house as they please and are pretty independent.

About the location

Lucerne is a lake-side town surrounded by the Alps. The scenery is breathtaking. Ideal for winter sports, water sports and hiking holidays. The lake is perfect for swimming in the summer - there are numerous beaches, "badis" (water parks) and play areas.

Lucerne is in central Switzerland- a good base for day trips to discover the rest of Switzerland. Zurich, Basel and Bern are around an hour away by car or train.
