The ocean is a 10 minute walk away to a quiet safe beach with a community pool with deck chairs and salas (which are Thai style huts). The resort (Tong Son Bay Villas) has 2 neighbours: Melati resort is a 6 star resort with restaurants and excellent but expensive food and Tong Song Bungalows which is not so upmarket but provides excellent local & inexpensive food.

Our villa is available all year round but the busy times for tourists to the island are from December until March and again in July and August. October - November are the wet months and March - April can be very hot, but other months are relaxing and comfortable.

The villa has 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms with a spacious kitchen, dining area and a living area downstairs - comfortably furnished in Thai furnishing - and is connected to broadband and TV satelllite receiving international programmes worldwide.

Nearby (2-10 km by car) are a number of restaurants offering a variety of different cuisines and provide a variety of foods including Thai, Indian, Malay, English, French, Brazilian, Indonesian, German, et. al. and McDonald's and Starbucks.

Besides swimming in the ocean and water sports such as sailing & boating, there are a number of other attractions to keep you busy and I suggest you check the internet to find out what is available on the island or on neighbouring islands. We especially enjoy golfing and hiking.

The island of Samui is not large and you can get around it easily by a car in a few hours. Visitors often rent cars, bicycles or jeeps and these are easily acquired. Local taxi-trucks provide cheap public transporation around the island.

Tong Son Bay resort is close to the airport (10 mins drive) which opens up a range of other regions to explore around Thailand, or visits to Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia. Incidentally, many low cost airlines provide inexpensive ways to explore South East Asia.
