Large family home on the Cornwall, Devon border.

If you like hidden river valleys, the arts, great pubs, beautiful walks, outdoor activities, beaches, moorland, hidden historic houses, having complete peace and quiet but well connected to it all then you`ll love where we live.
Built on the sunny south facing bank of the Tamar Valley and converted from old greenhouses, sits our large quirky bungalow. It has views of the river and wooded hills beyond, is a 5 minute walk to the centre of the lively riverside village of Calstock, but is completely tucked away.
We have 3 bedrooms and another room which can be used as a bedroom but is currently used as a playroom. There is a large kitchen, dinning, living room with and extra TV/Snug room. The south facing deck runs the length of the house and is great for eating, relaxing (in the hammock) or playing on! The garden beyond is mostly lawned, we have a large trampoline, gas fired BBQ and lots garden games, bikes and pop up pool to splash around in (summer only)

About the location

Calstock village lies within the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The Tamar Valley railway passes through Calstock and the Calstock viaduct, which is a striking feature dominating the area. The picturesque train route takes you into the heart of Historic Plymouth in about ½ hour. Calstock is a beautiful, quirky, lively village, -the social and cultural hub of the Tamar valley. The village is fortunate enough to have two pubs that both serve great local food as well as playing host to live music and events. There is a vibrant local arts scene includes Calstock Blues and Jazz Festival, the Bike show, (music, camping and motorbikes), and weekly events at the Calstock Arts ( part of the Fringe comedy circuit). Many artists live and work here – a visit to the Boat yard with it’s pottery, weaving and jewellery making studios will show off just a few. Other artists exhibit in the Limekiln Gallery.
There are numerous walks straight from the house, including walking along the river, past boatyard and through woods to the National Trust’s Cothele House. It is also within easy access of the wilds of Dartmoor, near to the traditional historic market town of Tavistock and an hour between the wild north and wooded south coast beaches of Devon and Cornwall. The Tamar Valley has a multitude of opportunities for outdoor pursuits; canoeing, mountain biking, tree surfing to name just a few, (www.treesurfers.co.uk).Check out more about where we live; http://www.tamarvalley.org.uk
There are also many other National Trust properties nearby and we are also just over 1 hour from the Eden Project.
