Elegant house in historic Oxford
The historic city of Oxford is surrounded by beautiful countryside, rivers and meadows. We live in a large and elegant Edwardian house at the end of a traditional terrace in South Oxford, just a 15 minute walk through parkland and riverside to Oxford city clocktower. Our house has extensive views over open countryside.
In the entrance hall there is a Bechstein piano. Our light filled 24ft wide kitchen diner has vintage furniture and lamps and wide sliding glass doors opening onto the patio dining area and large garden.
As well as the kitchen diner there is a stylish dining room with a table able to sit eight people. Off this room there is a study with large collection of books and a sofa bed.
The further sitting room at the front has two large sofas and open fireplace.
On the first floor there are two double bedrooms for guests' use. ( The third bedroom is Peter's music studio)
The main bathroom is spacious, with a Victorian stained glass window and views over the river)
The third floor is a self contained flat lived in by a couple - postgrads at the University. They are quiet and respectful, and out most of the time. They access the flat quietly through the house, but we scarcely see them.
