Older spacious property near a lovely park in Ipswich, the county town of Suffolk

Our house is a spacious detached property with a large garden in a very quiet residential street in Ipswich, the county town of rural Suffolk. It has 4 reception rooms, two double bedrooms, one with a king sized bed and one a double bed, and a family bathroom.There is a separate upstairs toilet and a downstairs cloakroom. It has a large comfortable conservatory.

We have a large garden with a table seating 6 and some comfy deck chairs in a storage unit behind the summer house. We have a bistro table seating two in our large front garden which is south facing and a very sunny spot in the mornings.

The kitchen is fully equipt with a large range oven, full sized fridge. There is. Washing machine and a freezer in the utility room. In the front store of the house is a tumble drier.

It is a 10 minute walk to the town through a beautiful park within which sits Christchurch Mansion. Antiques roadshow recently filmed two episodes in the park. Ipswich waterfront is a fifteen minute walk through the park with lots of cafes and restaurants set around a marina.

About the location

Suffolk is a hidden gem, a rural county with the coastal towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold and the world famous Snape concert hall all under an hours drive away. Ipswich is the county town of Suffolk known for its beautiful parks and medieval churches. In local Christchurch park is a Tudor mansion with the largest collection of Constable and Gainsborough paintings outside of London. Ipswich waterfront is a great place to enjoy the many restaurants and cafes set around a lovely marina. Constable county is a fifteen minute drive away with Flatford Mill and Willie Lotts cottage still as Constable painted them. It is a twenty minute drive to the nearest seaside town of Felixstowe and a similar distance to the beautiful town of Woodbridge, voted the best place to live in the Uk in a recent survey.
East Anglia is well known for its stunning river estuaries of which there are many. Orford and Framingham castles are just thirty minutes away. Ed Sheeran grew up in Framingham and the medieval castle is the inspiration for his hit song Castle on the Hill. The RSPB reserve at Minsmere is forty minutes away and is one of the leading bird reserves in the country where Spring Watch was filmed for five years. Colchester, the UKs oldest recorded town is 30 minutes away with its world renowned zoo. Thetford forest with its deer and the many fen reserves with both bitterns and otters are an hour away. The wool towns of Long Melford and Lavenhm re thirty minutes away. Both have some of the oldest medieval houses in the country, one of which was used as Harry’s Potters parents house Godric’s Hollow in the Harry Potter films. Suffolk is a county with an acclaimed food and drink industry with many excellent restaurants and pubs serving award winning food and drink locally produced.

We are an hour from London, Norwich and Cambridge, by train or car. East Anglia is the sunniest and driest part of the UK.
