Beautiful villa on a hill near Tavira

Update: We are looking for an Autumn 2025 break in London.
We have a lovely villa that overlooks hills and valleys in the eastern Algarve near the historic and elegant town of Tavira. The Isle of Tavira beach is in the top ten Lonely Planet beaches and is just 6K away. The villa is 30 minutes from Faro airport and also 20 minutes from the border with Spain, which means we are 2.5 hours from Lisbon and 1.5 hours from Seville.

The villa is on a hill surrounded by carob and olive trees and we grow our own vegetables. The garden is irrigated, but pot plants would need weekly watering.

We have one house cat. So she would need feeding.

The villa has a modern kitchen and three bathrooms (one is a wet room). Although the villa is four bedroomed we are making two bedrooms with double beds available. The other rooms are an art room and an office. These rooms will be closed.

We have a deck off the master bedroom that provides wonderful views. We have a private swimming pool with a bubble seating area. We have a hot tub with a full sized bubble bed. We are almost 100% solar and have an electric car. We have two cars. We offer the non-electric car. We are set in 1.5 acres of land with an electric gate and fencing. Its a quiet area perfect for painting, writing and relaxing, but also close enough to Tavira and the beaches for night life and fun.

About the location

Tavira is a small city on Portugal’s Algarve coast. It straddles the Gilão River, which reaches the sea through the inlets and lagoons of Ria Formosa Natural Park. Tavira Island has a long, sandy beach, plus salt pans that attract flamingos, spoonbills and other wading birds. In the center, medieval Tavira Castle has city views. The Santa María do Castelo Church houses the tombs of 7 knights killed by the Moors. ― Google
