Spacious house in idyllic village, set in tranquil countryside

We are situated in a secluded close in a pretty Test Valley village - in the heart of the countryside, yet only an hour’s drive from Heathrow Airport.

Our light, airy home benefits from real peace and quiet, well away from any busy thoroughfares.

We have spacious, open plan cooking, dining and living areas, sheltered outdoor seating areas, and an exciting children’s adventure play area in the garden that includes a trampoline and two treehouses connected with a rope and timber bridge.

Indoors, we have plenty of board games and toys for all ages, a 4’ table football table and 6’ snooker table available. If required, we can loan various baby and child equipment, and sometimes adult/child bikes (please enquire). We also have a piano, keyboard and other musical instruments that you are welcome to use.

The house is currently arranged to sleep 6 people in 4 large bedrooms (2 doubles with ensuites, 2 singles sharing the family bathroom, additional cloakroom downstairs) with 2 studies, one of which we use as an office so normally keep locked and not as part of the house swap.

We have the usual household appliances, but please note that our tumble drier is a very old model, so for emergency use only. We have plenty of hanging space to dry washing.

There is plenty of room to park on the drive.

We have two guinea pigs that we hope you will be able to feed during your stay. However, we can make alternative arrangements for them if needed and they also tend to go into boarding during the long school summer holiday. We are happy to look after your pets.

About the location

This part of rural Hampshire, in the south of the UK, comprises rolling hills of chalk downland dissected by crystal clear streams and dotted with quaint, thatched villages in hidden valleys.

Chilbolton is particularly peaceful as it is not on a main road – yet retains excellent access to the UK road network.

As well as beautiful, tranquil countryside in every direction and local beauty spots, Stonehenge (UNESCO World Heritage Site) is just half an hour away by car.

Two of England’s ten national parks are within easy reach: the South Downs National Park is a 20 minute drive and the New Forest National Park is a 35 minute drive.

The small, picturesque market town of Stockbridge is 5 minutes’ drive away and the stunning cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury are 20 and 35 minutes’ drive respectively.
