Casa 60 is a 3 Bedroomed Town House nestled amongst the 11,000 hectares of municipal pine forest and the Natural Park of Marismas del Piedras. Situated next to the 3rd Hole on the Par 71, 18 Hole Nuevo Portil Golf Course overlooking 2 Swimming Pools, Paddle Tennis Court and Poolside Cabana. The property has Off Street Parking as well as 3 Sun Terraces for Alfresco Dining.

We can provide a Baby's Bed and/or a Fold up Child's Bed if required. Smoking is permitted on the Balcony/Patio Areas outside the house.

About the location

The picturesque, uncrowded beach surrounded by dunes and pines is a five minute walk away. Restaurants, Tapas bars and a grocery store are also walkable. Popular with golfers, nature lovers and families alike Nuevo Portil is just over an hour commute to both Seville and Faro(Portugal) airports.

Located on the western part of the Andalucian coastline facing the Atlantic, El Portil is an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area. For the gourmet, freshly caught fish and prawns can be sampled in the local tapas bars and in the restaurants in the nearby fishing village of El Rompido. The young white Condado wines from the region make an excellent accompaniment. Jabugo, a 40 minute drive away, produces probably the best Jamon(Spanish Ham) in Spain, namely Cinco Jotas. Moguer, a fifteen minute drive away offers a 'Tapas Trail'. Nature lovers will be enchanted by The Doñana National Park, home to the Iberian Lynx, Egyptian Mongoose and a variety of European and African migratory birds. Seville and its many attractions are under an hour away as is the Portuguese border town of Vila Real de Santo António. For golfers, courses in the region include El Rompido, Islantilla and Isla Canela.

Golf :- 6,040 metres long Nuevo Portil Golf Course consists of wide fairways, gentle greens and several doglegs. The Huelva coastline, made up of golden beaches, dunes and mature forests of junipers and pines can be seen from the fairways. Facilities include driving range, pitching green, practice bunker, club hire and trolley renting, school and excellent restaurant and bar facilities. Other courses nearby include Islantilla, Isla Canela and El Rompido.

Beaches :- The Blue Flag beaches are expansive golden sands backed by sand dunes and pine trees. The temperatures are slightly milder and have lower humidity than the neighbouring Costa del Sol. Showers are available on most beaches and lifeguards are on duty during the busier summer months. Naturalist beaches can be found at Playa Flecha de Nueva Umbría and Playa La Mata Negra (Los Enebrales).

Carting Track :- Kartodromo de Cartaya, open year round.

Water Park :- Aquopolis, open during peak summer months.

Restaurants, bars, cafes, pharmacy, hairdresser,general store and bakery are within walking distance. Cartaya, a 15 minute drive, is the base for Mercadona and the Carrefour supermarkets as well as Lidl and Aldi discount stores. Fresh fish may be purchased from the fish market in Punta Umbria, fish mongers at El Rompido or Carrefour and Mercadona. A short drive from the house are a number of beachside Chiringuitos(restaurants), where you can dine al fresco. Excellent fried fish on offer normally include lubina(sea bass), lenguado(sole), merluza(hake), salmonettes(small red mullet), boquerones(char grilled anchovies) sardinas(char grilled sardines) and calamares(squid). Tinto de verano is a refreshing mix of red wine and Sprite and works really well in the warm climate.

El Portil is convenient for both Faro and Seville airports. For checking flight prices Skyscanner is a convenient tool for checking budget airlines(Easyjet,Ryanair, Aer Lingus,Thomson,Thomascook, Monarch, Air Berlin and Jet2.com and Vueling Airlines). It is also worth checking the websites of British Airways, Iberia and TAP, the Portuguese national carrier, as occasionally their prices are very competitive. When travelling from Faro, book with a company that does not charge for crossing the border into Spain. Finally, if you are a EU citizen, it is worth registering for a free European Health Insurance Card. This covers you for most medical treatments in the participating countries.
