Good walking areas nearby, close to the New Forest and about 1 hour from the south coast. London is 1 1/4 hours by rail from Salisbury, and Bath is 1 1/2 hours by car or 45 mins by rail. The village pub is just across the road, and there are plenty of other pubs and restaurants within easy reach.
