In a small village called Mathern. Village pub and church. Historic Bishop`s Palace and walks down to the River Severn. Playground for children and tennis court. Fishing lakes and golf course nearby.

Near the attractive small town of Chepstow with its Norman castle, museum and riverside. Wide choice of good pubs and restaurants. Interesting small shops and choice of supermarkets.

Close to the famous Wye Valley, the Offa`s Dyke Path and the Forest of Dean. Excellent walking country: hills, forests and rivers. Also good for picnics, canoeing, fishing, mountain-biking etc. Within easy reach of Tintern Abbey and the county town of Monmouth.

Many historic sites: Roman remains and museums in Caerwent and Caerleon with free entry. Museum of Welsh Life at St Fagan`s highly recommended. Visit Big Pit at Blaenavon. If you like castles, Caldicot is nearby and you can also visit Cardiff Castle and Castell Coch (the Red Castle).

Close to Bristol, Newport, Cardiff, Gloucester, Cheltenham & Bath. Good for shopping, theatre, museums, concert halls and Welsh National Opera.
