This is a very good walking area with beautiful varied countryside on the edge of the Peak District, but it is only half an hours drive from Manchester airport. It is a town of approx. 50000 with supermarkets, shops and restaurants etc. It is also ideally situated for visits to Snowdonia or Lake District both being approx. one and half hours drive away.
