Lovely 2 Bed home in Comares, Spain

The property is a modernised, open-plan house in a spectacular mountain village. Comares is the highest of the pueblos blancos, but is only an hour's drive east of Malaga.

Unlike most rural Spanish homes, the house has large rooms, high ceilings and simple, elegant Moorish furnishings. There is a pretty enclosed courtyard garden – ideal for al fresco dining.

There are incredible walks and drives around the village. I am biased, but as a travel writer I can genuinely say I've rarely seen a more dramatic village. There are amazing 360-degree views from the ancient Moorish fort towards the coast (30 minutes away) and the wild hinterland of the Axarquia.

Comares is a friendly village with three of four bars/restaurants, a supermarket, a swimming pool and a beautiful boutique hotel. It's a solidly Spanish-speaking village, but our English keyholder is on hand to help with any questions.
