Our neighborhood:

Located on the southern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, within the Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge, less than a 15 minute walk/ 8 min. bike ride/ or 5 min. drive from the authentic fishing village of Manzanillo and blue-flagged (top ranking)palm-lined beaches. Manzanillo village is at the entrance to hiking trails through the rain forest and/or along the miles-long, blue coral lined Caribbean sea perfect for swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, turtle and dolphin watching and fishing. All equipment for such activities is rentable from the local diving shop. Local boatmen are available for fishing and dolphin watching and it is also possible to visit the Panamanian islands of Bocas del Toro by boat. The village has two small supermarkets, Maxi's bar and restaurant (well known for its lobster, red snapper and food on the grill). Another beachfront restaurarnt/bar offers authentic Mediterranean cuisine. There's an ice-cream, cake, and espresso cafe plus a pizza parlor and small local eateries offering inexpensive meals. Several buses a day run between Manzanillo, Puerto Viejo and Limon. There is one direct bus per day to and from San Jose where the airport is located. All can be accessed at the entrance to the property. Taxi also available and private bus service directly to and from the airport.

The bustling Caribbean resort town of Puerto Viejo lies 20 minutes away by car or bus with a variety of both local and international cuisines on offer, lively night life and live music, artisan boutiques, shopping malls, plus loads of adventure tour companies. There are medical and dental clinics, a bank, ATM, Saturday farmer's market, large supermarkets, pharmacy, and post office.
