Lovely 2 Bed home in MIDHURST, ENGLAND

Tudor cottage built in 1520 and literally next door (10feet!) to a ruined manor house which is a minor tourist attraction. The house is set in middle of open sports grounds and they play polo behind the back gardens from June to September... the helicopters land on the lower fields during the big matches at weekends during the summer, and you can watch cricket through the kitchen window, but everyone goes home by sunset ..... It is very interesting here!

Half a mile walk across the river and an ancient causeway is the old market town, where there are shops pubs and restaurants,
On site there is a restored Tudor walled garden (entrance fee charged) and there are plans to open a tea shop and visitor centre in the newly restored barn and stables during 2007.

This is a character 2 double bed cottage with a kingsize bed in each (one is a four poster) with open fires, beamed ceilings, thick walls, leaded windows etc. It has all mod cons - satellite tvs, dishwasher, internet etc but there is a flip side - the reality of lighting open fires and the rusty Aga in the kitchen as there is no central heating, and getting used to the world's oldest bathroom (the bath is grim!). Don't get me wrong tastefully decorated, just very old and characterful (no ghosts!) This place is amazing for anyone who wants a chill out zone in ancient surroundings, in battered comfort on bare 10 inch oak floor boards - it is not for you if you are looking for clinical and pristine! Parties with children are welcome but the house/spiral stairs are not suitable for youngsters and there are just the 2 beds!

The cat comes as part of the deal, but he is out on the town most nights and sleeps all day (remind you of teenagers?). There are three quiet elderly neighbours in adjoining cottages.

There is no light or noise pollution here yet the town is a just a short walk and Midhurst is well placed for exploring the South Downs and coastline - the nearest city is the beautiful cathedral city of Chichester, ten miles away, which has a train line to London(50mins)and is approx 2m from the sea. Gatwick and Heathrow London Airports are both approx 45 mins drive away.
