Lovely 1 Bed home in Galatina, ITALY

“Via Vignola” is a charming resort located in a fully restored ancient building in the historical centre of Galatina. The interior design is modern and comfortable and perfectly blended with the original vaulted and barrel-vaulted ceiling of the rooms, the furniture is functional to provide a pleasant long or short stay.

Our flat is a very charming apartment on the first floor. There is a bedroom with a double bed, a very wide kitchen and a small laundry room, a bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a double sofa bed, a loft with a single bed, a bathroom with shower, wc, bidet, hairdryer. In all 75 sq meters. There is also a terrace on the roof equipped with chairs, table, beach umbrella for 4 people, where you can enjoy an interesting outlook on the historical centre. The kitchen is equipped with dishes, cutlery, glassware, cooking pots, pans, cooking utensils, microwave, toaster. The flat is equipped with bedclothes, towels, household and table linen, TV, DVD player, air conditioning.

Galatina is a very old town full of history and baroque vestiges, 20 km south of Lecce. There are many churches of high artistic value, among which, the "Basilica di Santa Caterina di Alessandria" with its precious cycle of paintings, stands out. Galatina is surrounded by a lovely countryside and is near one of the most beautiful Italian seashores: 20 km from the Ionian sea and 25 km from Adriatic sea. Galatina is a perfect starting point for visiting interesting towns such as :

Otranto, and cathedral of the Annunziata with a grandiose interior and a highly original floor mosaic, telling stories from the Bible, mankind and stories of King Arthur and of Charlemagne; Lecce, the "Florence of South Italy" with the artistic and architectural treasures, inspired by the characteristic Baroque style created by able craftsmen using the tender "Lecce Stone"; All these places are quickly reachable by driving along picturesque roads crossing the Salento region.

GOLF

Not far from Galatina (25 km), near the Adriatic coast, is the course and the facilities of the Acaya Golf Club. The course adjoins, the Nature Reserve of Cesine and it two kilometres away from the Adriatic beach of San Cataldo. The golf course covers an area of 120 hectares. It is surrounded by a thick wood of holly-oaks, by vast olive-groves and rare spontaneous flora, which give to the area a typical Mediterranean aspect. The golf course with 18 championship holes (72 par) is situated in this area of extraordinary beauty.

Course facilities include a practice course, a pitching green and putting green. It is also possible to hire a golf kart and golf equipment. The Club House is the former Masseria San Pietro, a remarkable fortified 17th century farmhouse, with a beautiful courtyard.

TRAVEL

By plane: Lecce so Galatina can be reached by plane arriving ar Bari airport "Palese" (150 Km) or Brindisi airport "Papola-Casale"(50 km); there you can take a bus to Lecce, hire a car or take a taxi.Parking is available free in streets close to Via Vignola
