Lovely 3 Bed home in BURGUNDY (Arcy-Sur-Cure), FRANCE

Stone cottage located in a historical hamlet, within walking distance of Europe's second largest prehistorical painted caves, nestled between two castles, including Le Chastenay, a Renaissance château, well-known amongst alchemist lovers. House stands across the ruins of an 12th century fortified farm whose 4 towers are still intact. Roman pathway passes by our door and at times hikers, even pilgrims, go by, on their way to the Basilica of Vezelay, a 5-hour walking trip, or even to Santiago de Compostela in Spain! The river Cure is also a few seconds away. Area is known for boating, cruising on the Canal of Burgundy, fishing, and ballooning. (Most touristic rentals of barges and air balloons are run by Brits!) Public tennis court and football field are within minutes walking. Hamlet has about 40 inhabitants and all its houses are grouped around the castles. Neighbours are friendly and helpful. Village below, Arcy-Sur-Cure, is within 10 mn walking distance and has about 400 inhabitants. Pathways are by the river or one of the châteaux'. There is a campsite and a bed and breakfast in the village. My house is furnished with country antiques. The downstairs has beams. We have cable TV. Car needs to be parked outside but it's fine. Place is ideal for nature lovers and/or tourists who wish to take day trips to Chablis, Auxerre, the Morvan Natural Park, Beaune, Dijon to discover Burgundy and enjoy spots situated far from commercial activities. Main noises in the hamlet are bird singings with an occasional dog barking or a donkey getting angry...Surroundings are genuinely lovely but house does not have a garden, just a small yard. There is a bathroom at each floor, each with a shower only 2, a dishwasher, micro-wave, an insert fireplace, one twin, one full and one double beds.
