Lovely 2 Bed home in near Melrose, Scotland

Our house is a converted steading in a hamlet of seven homes in the Ale Valley in the Scottish Borders. We have 2.5 acres of garden with views to the north, east and south; a wildlife pond, a large tipi with a fire pit for nights outside, peace & quiet and wonderful night skies. The house is spacious but cosy with two double bedrooms (one ensuite) and a large kitchen/sitting room with an electric range cooker and wood burning stove. Wood is provided for the stove and all rooms have electric heaters, partly powered by solar pv panels. The bathroom has a bath and a shower. Villages with pubs, a shop and cafes are two and five miles away. The Border Abbeys of Melrose, Kelso, Jedburgh, and Dryburgh are each only 6-12 miles from the house and Selkirk and Hawick are both a similar distance. Edinburgh is one hour away and our car can be collected from central Edinburgh for travel down to the house. Newcastle and Gateshead are just over an hour away for visits to Sage and The Baltic gallery. Our central Borders location means that all the beautiful Border countryside is easily accessible, including the coastal area to the east.
