Eco house in a quiet area of the historic city of York
Newbuild detached house in York. Part of an innovative self-build scheme. We built it with comfort an ease of living in mind.
It has an open plan kitchen, living, dining area with a separate snug and a bathroom/utility room downstairs. There's washer and dryer in the utility and the snug has a double sofa bed in and can double up as an extra bedroom. The kitchen is very well equipped with an instant boiling water tap, dishwasher, two ovens and induction hob.
Upstairs is the master bedroom with a kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom. There are 2 other double bedrooms and a large family bathroom. One of the bedrooms (not the master) will not be available for use as it is used as an office with difficult to dismantle equipment.
There is a South facing garden and a large driveway.
About the location
Our house is in the quiet area of Acomb. Away from but within easy reach of the busy historic city centre of York.
Our house overlooks the village green and is well served by local shops, cafe's and public transport. The city centre is a 40 minute walk away but buses are frequent and our bikes available for use.
The walled city of York has many attractions to offer including the 13th Century Minster and Clifford Tower, as well as the cobbled street of the Shambles and many independent shops, restaurants and bars.
York is also within easy reach of the areas of outstanding natural beauty - The Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors.
