Secluded one level home in Oak Bay, near Victoria - British Columbia

The Victoria area has the most benign climate in Canada with temperate temperatures throughout the year. Summers are generally dry and warm - ideal for outdoor activities - and September is often a lovely month here. We live in Oak Bay, a quiet suburb of Victoria and about 4 km from the centre of Victoria.

Our home is on one level on a very quiet cul-de-sac close to the ocean. It is a small house and not really geared for children as the bedding is 3 double beds. We are very keen gardeners so the garden is a major feature of the house - though exchangers are not expected to do any gardening!

About the location

Victoria is the capital of British Columbia and on Vancouver Island, a 2-hour ferry trip from Vancouver. Vancouver Island is about 500 km long with many interesting places to visit, sights to see and hikes to do. Our immediate area (Oak Bay) is like a village with all ameneties within walking (1km) distance and a bus stop 50m from the house.

Most visitors whale watch, hike, cycle, kayak, golf and enjoy the scenery. We are within easy distance of both Vancouver and Seattle.
