Bird Lovers Paradise - Sunshine Coast

Comfortable open plan home containing 1 main bedroom with Kingsize bed, with ensuite, another bedroom containing a double bed with main bathroom nearby, a 3rd bedroom which is used as a library and all purpose room and a 4th bedroom used as an office. Reverse cycle air conditioning (cooling and heating) plus additional wood fire burner for winter if cold enough! Full solar electricity and Wifi. We are in beautiful scenic rural area 25 minutes easy drive to Noosa beaches. Lovely views, located at Black Mountain, just 10 minutes (7km) north of Cooroy in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland in Queensland. It is outdoor living most of the year and if you like lots of birdlife, kangaroos and a very peaceful and relaxed setting, this is the place for you. Our home is north facing (equivalent to south facing in the UK) in an attractive bush garden setting on a ridge and is bathed in sunlight much of the time but with plenty of shade also.

Our home sits 300 ft above sea level on 2 acres of land with almost uninterrupted mountain, rural and forest views. Native parrots, kookaburras and other flora and fauna abound. Easy maintenance.

About the location

Our area is located on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, just out of the town of Cooroy. Cooroy is a very attractive little town with all the facilities one would want, not to mention many small shops and coffee shops. It can be outdoor living all year round with a sub tropical climate. We are within 10 minutes drive of the famous Eumundi Markets, one of the many attractive Hinterland towns/villages. Also nearby are other attractive small towns or villages, Pomona, Kin Kin, Cooran, and Boreen Point for sailing on the lake.

Noosa is a holiday destination with no high rise and just one set of traffic lights! The safe sandy main beach is patrolled by lifeguards. It is near shops and restaurants. The Noosa River is another popular destination to relax and enjoy the beautiful river either by boat or ferry or on its grassy foreshore, where there are many BBQ areas, seating, tables and to enjoy the spectacular sunsets over the river. The Noosa National Park has stunning scenery for walking and is wheelchair friendly for much of the way. Koalas can be spotted but sadly they are in decline. Art galleries and theatres are all over the Sunshine Coast.

We are 1.5 hours easy drive from Brisbane International Airport and the city. Here you can catch a plane to anywhere in the world. 45 minutes drive away is our nearest airport, the Sunshine Coast Regional Airport. From this airport flights are available to most major cities in Australia plus to Auckland in New Zealand during their skiing season soon to become all year round. Brisbane is our nearest big city where you will find all the arts, galleries, theatre and other entertainments. Other regional large shopping centres are also within easy reach.

The Gold Coast is 3 hours driving where all the major theme parks are located.

We are looking to do a long term exchange in the Oakham or near to spend some quality time with family and the growing grandchildren. We know Oakham well and are not looking for anything swanky, just a pleasant clean home in the vicinity to be close to family who live in Braunston Road. We are very experienced exchangers and would of course very much respect and care for other's homes, as we do our own.
