Historic birthplace of Alfred the Great, Wantage is a small, pretty market town in rural Oxfordshire and our quiet home is 5 minutes walk from the town square's great pubs, cafes, restaurants, independent shops & markets. Local sights include Uffington White Horse & Wayland's Smithy, The Ridgeway national trail, Vale & Downland Museum. We are 20 mins from historic Oxford and an hour from Stonehenge, Bath, The Cotswolds, Windsor, Legoland & Heathrow. We are 2 hours from London and the south coast - both good for day trips. The town is well served by public transport with Didcot Parkway station in the next town. The neighbourhood is friendly and peaceful.
