About the location

Shoreham-by-Sea is a historic seaside town in West Sussex, England. The town is bordered to its north by the beautiful South Downs. Shoreham-by-Sea, is a historic town with a centre which reflects the architecture of its fishing history. There are old cottages, houses and some beautiful churches. Yet the town is vibrant and there are some stunning new developments along its riverside and harbour front. It is a unique area with the natural features of its tidal river, an active harbour and commercial port. There are some individual shops, a variety of bars and restaurants and an award winning monthly Farmers' market.

We are VERY close by train, bus or car to Brighton town center with its amazing art scene and its boutique shops. Brighton is an inclusive, free-thinking city in the heart of Sussex. With a blend of modern culture and exotic architecture, sea and countryside.

Brighton Marina- this is situated East of the main tourist beaches away from Hove and the Piers. There are shops and restaurants there- has a nice Rivera feel to it- free parking or you could walk- 20-25 minutes from house. There is a wonderful seafront walk that tourists are unaware of- it is the Under Clif pass that starts from behind the Asda at the Marina and it takes you all the way to Rottingdean. It is right next to the sea- there is a café on route and then a pub when you reach Rottingdean.



Direct trains to London Victoria and London Bridge run regularly from Shoreham by Sea train station- a 10 minute walk from the house.

You can walk from the door and be on the South Downs Way in 5 minutes.

Devil’s Dyke is a lovely experience too- pub on the Dyke for food/refreshments.

Stanmer Park is another lovely walk/ park. I have left a leaflet for that too- the walk through the park is wooded and really calming.
