Old Springfields - St Ives

Our home is a beautiful old granite Cornish Cottage.
It has stone floors downstairs, a wood burning stove in the living room with feature granite walls.

Downstairs there is a playroom with TV, PlayStation and a wide selection of games and a piano room. We have a fully equipped kitchen with large windows making it bright and airy, we also have a separate utility/boot room with a washer and dryer. There is a downstairs bathroom with a bath.
Upstairs there is a main double room with a king size bed, a bathroom with a large shower and 3 single bedrooms.

Our house is a little kooky with many original features. It most definitely has character!
We are semi detached, although the neighbours are no bother as they are actually my parents.
We have a large enclosed cottage garden with a fire pit, BBQ, large picnic bench and swing seat.

Out the back there is yard where we have 8 rare breed chickens. These can be seen from the kitchen window and often take an interest in watching us eat!
The chickens can be looked after by my parents if you would rather. On the front lawn we have a small gaggle of call ducks who help us keep the slug population under control.
We have 3 child friendly, gentle Ragdoll cats, who are house cats, so need to be kept indoors. They would very much appreciate some food morning and night and maybe a lap to sit on, although they could go to the cattery if you are not feline fans.
We also have a very friendly Springer spaniel named Milo. Depending on where we are going, he may come with us. If you would prefer not to look after Milo, we can leave him with a dog sitter.

About the location

The house is situated approximately 2 miles from the nearest beach. Although there are many beaches to choose from in close proximity. We live in an area of outstanding beauty with many beaches, coves and woods. We live within walking distance from Trencrom Hill, where both the north and south coasts can be seen.

The very popular St ives Bay is very close... our eldest child goes to school there. There is a bus service which runs from just up the road to St Ives and beyond during the summer.
The Tate Modern Art Gallery is situated in St Ives along with many other art galleries.

Flambards, The National Seal Sanctuary, Paradise park, Hayle outdoor pool and St Ives leisure centre are all on hand to help keep children entertained.
Pendennis castle is about 40 minutes away. During the summer they hold the very popular historical jousting tournament, which is a firm favourite with our children.
We have The Old Mill riding stables just up the road and Una, which is a luxury spa about a mile away.

There is a Golf course in Lelant, about 2 miles away which boast sea views.
The Hall for Cornwall Theatre in Truro has a varied selection of shows on every week, and has some fantastic children`s shows, as does The Minack Theatre near Porth Kernow.

The area is renowned for surfing and it`s family friendly beaches. On top of all of this, we also have the beautiful St Michaels Mount just 20 minutes drive away.
